A Hole

Have you ever felt like there was something missing from inside you? Its as if you have this void inside of you and nothing can fill it. Maybe you have tried filling it with the love of your family and friends or maybe with tangible things. Whatever you have tried it has left you more empty than you were before you began searching. Well my friend we all have a hole like this and there is only one thing that can fill it. That thing is God's love. Filling this hole with other things is like trying to fit a square in a circle; its impossible to do. The filler of this void is the same God who knows everything about you and still loves you. God's love is deeper than any human relationship could ever be. Theres a God shaped hole in all of us and the only thing that will liberate us from the pain is His love.

Drab

Do you ever have one of those days when every thing around you feels lifeless? Today was one of those days. I was able to sleep late for the first time in ages, but I woke with regret because I could have been accomplishing so much instead of lying in the bed. After forcing myself out of bed and getting ready the same way I do every day; I went shoe shopping. Now, don't get me wrong, I love to shop, but on lifeless, dreary days like this; even the most awesome shoe can't take away my blues. I hate it when the sun doesn't shine, it causes the day to drag on and minutes become hours. Drab days lead to misery in heart and mind.

Be Still

After hearing others talk about their blogs, I decided that it was time for me to jot down my random thoughts. I was thinking early this morning as I was getting ready for work on how much I miss the lazy days of summer. Remember when summer ment spending the day playing outside and going to the pool? Now summer has became the most hectic time of the year due to the weddings, mission trips, vbs' and all the other activities we throw in. Before we know it Walmart will be replacing the discounted Fourth of July decorations with Santa Clauses. The world keeps moving faster everyday and sometimes I just want to shout; "Be Still. Stop. Let me catch up." I was sharing with the youth at my church tonight a passage that referes to human life as a fog. James 4: 14 says; "How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone." Our lives are so short that the constant rushing and wishing we do does not add time, but takes away the precious time we do have.
